Reseller Guide
How the panel works, from the first sign-in to a customer's new TV · updated 8 October 2026
Four things to remember
1 credit = one year, 3 credits = lifetime. The start pack opens selling. A licence lives on a Device ID. You sell the app — never content.
1. Your first sign-in
The approval e-mail carries an activation link. It works once, for 72 hours: open it, and the page shows your username and a password made for you. Save both — the password is shown only there. Then sign in at modernplayer.tv/panel. The panel works on a phone, a tablet and a computer.
You cannot change the password yourself. If you lose it, write to [email protected] and we send a new activation link; the old password stops working the moment we do.
2. Credits
Everything you activate is paid with credits. Open Credits → Buy credits: the ladder shows every pack and its price per credit — the bigger the pack, the cheaper the credit. Your first purchase is the start pack; until it is paid the panel shows your customers but cannot activate.
An order is created when you choose a pack. It is marked paid when the money arrives — for now we confirm it by hand and the credits land on your balance at once; card payment in the panel follows. Every movement of credits — bought, spent, returned — is in Credits → History, so there is nothing to reconcile.
Credits never expire and are not refundable. They cannot be moved to another reseller.
3. Adding a customer
Your customer opens Modern Player on their TV. The Welcome screen (and Settings → About) shows the Device ID — six pairs of characters. In the panel, Customers → Add: a name you will recognise and that Device ID. That is the whole record; the panel keeps nothing else about them.
One customer can have several devices — add each TV as its own entry.
4. Activating a licence
Open the customer, choose 1 year (1 credit) or Lifetime (3 credits), press Activate. The licence is live at once; on the TV the customer presses Reload on the Welcome screen, or simply opens the app again. Nothing to type on the TV.
Check the Device ID before you press: a licence activated on a wrong device is spent.
5. Renewing
A yearly licence shows its expiry date on the customer's row. Renew any time from the same row — a renewal adds a year to the current end date, so renewing early loses nothing. The customer's TV shows a reminder in the last days; you see the same date in the panel.
6. Moving a licence to a new TV
A customer replaced their TV: open their entry, Move, and enter the new Device ID. The licence leaves the old device and arrives on the new one. This works at most once in 30 days per licence.
7. Revoking
If a customer did not pay you, you may Revoke the licence you activated for them. The app on that TV returns to its activation screen. Revoke only when you have a real reason towards your customer; we may ask about it. Licences a customer bought directly on modernplayer.tv are not yours to manage.
8. Messages to customers' TVs
Messages lets you send a short notice to one of your customers' TVs — a renewal reminder, a change of your contact details. A few per day; keep them about the licence. Never use them to advertise content.
9. What to tell your customers
- Modern Player is a video player. It plays a playlist they already have from a source they chose; no channels, films or series are included.
- The licence is for one device, for a year or for life, and it is theirs even if you stop reselling.
- Help with the app itself is at modernplayer.tv/support; help with their playlist is with the source they got it from.
10. Brand material
Use the name "Modern Player" and the logo exactly as we supply them, on a dark background, with clear space around. You may call yourself an authorised Modern Player reseller. Do not combine the logo with other brand names, do not add promises the app does not make, and never show it next to content you sell. The Reseller Terms have the full rules.
11. Help
Partner questions, lost password, a wrong Device ID: [email protected]. We answer within a working day.
