Privacy Policy
Last updated 30 July 2026 · modernplayer.tv
The short version
Modern Player has no accounts, no analytics and no servers of its own. Nothing you type into the app is sent to us, because there is nowhere for it to be sent.
1. Who we are
Modern Player ("the app", "we") is developed and published by Modern Player. For anything in this policy, write to [email protected].
2. What we collect
No personal data is collected, transmitted or stored by us. The app has no registration, no user accounts, no tracking pixels, no advertising identifiers and no analytics software of any kind.
3. What stays on your device
The following is saved locally on the device you are using, and is never sent anywhere by the app:
- Playlist details you enter — server address, username, password, or the address of an M3U file
- Your favourites, watch history and playback positions
- Preferences such as language, subtitle appearance and playback engine
- Your parental control PIN, if you set one
Deleting the app removes all of it. Removing a playlist inside the app removes everything associated with that playlist, including its history.
4. Who your device talks to
When you add a playlist, your device communicates directly with the provider whose address you entered, in order to load channels and play video. That connection is between you and them. We are not part of it, we cannot see it, and we never receive a copy of anything in it.
Your provider may keep its own records of what you watch and when. What they collect is governed by their policy, not ours.
5. Purchases on phones and tablets
Subscriptions and one-time purchases inside the app are processed entirely by the app store you downloaded from — Apple or Google. We never see your name, address, card number or any other payment detail. The store tells the app only whether a purchase is active.
6. Television licences bought on this website
If you buy a licence for a television on this site, we process only what is needed to deliver it:
- the six-character code shown by your device, and the platform it runs on
- an email address, so we can send the receipt and reach you about that licence
The payment itself is handled by our payment provider. Card details go to them and never pass through us. We keep the record of your purchase for as long as the licence is valid, and for as long afterwards as tax law requires. We do not use your email for marketing unless you ask us to.
7. Crash reports
If you have chosen to share crash and usage data with developers in your device settings, the platform may send us anonymous crash reports. These describe what the app was doing when it stopped working. They contain no personal data and no playlist details, and you can turn them off at any time in your device's privacy settings.
8. This website
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running. We set no cookies of our own and run no analytics.
9. Children
The app is rated 17+ and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone of any age, because we do not collect information at all.
10. Your rights
Data protection law gives you the right to access, correct and delete personal data held about you. For the app, we hold none — everything is on your own device and under your control. For a website licence, write to us and we will produce or erase what we hold, subject to the records we are legally required to keep.
11. Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version appears on this page with a new date at the top. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the revised policy.
